Acupuncture

Acupuncture is becoming more popular as people start to take responsibility for their health.  Nowadays people are turning away from simply popping pills and want to address the underlying reasons for their illness so are turning to holistic treatments such as acupuncture.

Robust research backs up what many people have known for years – Acupuncture works!  Acupuncture is shown (using MRI scans) to stimulate the body’s healing response by balancing our hormones and our nervous system.

How does Acupuncture work?

Stress, lifestyle and injury upset our natural harmony and lead to physical and/or emotional symptoms. Kate uses very fine, painless needles to activate acupuncture points on the body to restore equilibrium. A balanced body is a healthy body so as treatment progresses symptoms disappear and health is restored.  Think of it like giving your car an MOT so it runs better and more efficiently!

The Benefits of Acupuncture

Many medical treatments just treat your symptoms.  Acupuncture treats the root cause of your complaint.  This not only improves your complaint but also helps with other symptoms – you may find that you are sleeping better, niggling back pain has gone and you have a general sense of wellbeing.

Acupuncture and the NHS

Acupuncture is now prescribed by the NHS for certain conditions and there is much research into the effectiveness of treatment (click here to see Research). It is widely used and accepted all over the world.

“My mind feels clearer and I’m not finding life such a struggle. I almost went down the anti-depressants route – I’m so glad I saw Kate first.”  Sophie, 33
