Stress-related insomnia on the rise. Have acupuncture for a good night's sleep.

Stress-related insomnia

According to today's news the UK is a nation hooked on sleeping pills for stress-related insomnia.  The NHS is spending £50million a year on sleeping pills and more and more people are getting hooked.  Side effects of sleeping tablets include headaches, liver disorders, nausea and grogginess the next day.

More than a third of adults suffer from insomnia.  Not only does insomnia make you feel exhausted, researchers also found that it causes relationship problems and caused weight gain.

Taking sleeping tablets just masks the cause of the problem.  STRESS.  There must be a better solution...?

Acupuncture for Stress and Insomnia

Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. Fast paced lives, ‘always-on’ technology and the rising cost of living mean that many of us are feeling stressed-out.  One symptom of stress is insomnia.

A recent study has shown that acupuncture can help.

Acupuncture scientifically proven to reduce stress

When we are stressed our body releases the ‘flight or flight’ protein ‘neuropeptide Y’ into our blood.  Having acupuncture significantly reduces levels of this protein and calms the central nervous system.  Anecdotal evidence has long existed into the benefits of acupuncture in reducing stress but this is the first time we have scientific confirmation which is great news.

Try acupuncture for a good night's sleep.
